Cooler Master takes the wraps off its X6 Elite CPU cooler:

Adding to the excitement, another announcement includes a CPU Cooler with a unique honeycomb fin structure, the X6 Elite CPU Cooler. This fin structure is used in conjunction with an angled base that acts as a means to increase overall airflow throughout the chassis. Cooler Master reveals Vertical Vapor Chamber CPU cooling technology

Cooler Master send out a press release to detail the new Vertical Vapor Chamber technology used by its new TPC 812 processor cooler. Retail availability is expected by CeBIT 2012.

After releasing the world�s first heatpipe heatsink in 2000, Cooler Master announces that it will begin to phase in Vertical Vapor Chamber technology into its upcoming retail CPU heatsinks; a technology initially developed by Cooler Master�s OEM and industrial cooling division.

Vertical Vapor Chambers feature less than half the air resistance by reducing airflow vortexes and noise generated by air streaming through a heatsink. At the same time vertical vapor chambers exhibit 3 times the fin contact area, enabling faster and more efficient transfer of heat from the vapor chambers to the fins, and overall more efficient use of the available fin surface area.

As a result, Vertical Vapor Chambers allow Cooler Master to develop cooling solutions with greatly reduced noise footprints or increased cooling performance in excess of 200W at the same or lower noise level as without vertical vapor chambers.

The high-end tower heatsink Cooler Master TPC-812, the first product based on this latest technology and Cooler Masters leading product development process will be officially released to the market in a few weeks during CeBIT 2012.

Cooler Master TPC 812 vapour chamber CPU cooler shown off at CES

VR Zone reports Cooler Master has a vapour chamber CPU cooler on display at CES 2012. The TPC 812 has a copper base, six U-shaped copper heatpipes, a vapour chamber block in the middle, an aluminium fin array and a 120PWM fan.

The HSF uses the same fan bracket as the V6 and newer Hyper coolers, and supports Intel's new LGA2011 socket.

According to Cooler Master, the TPC 812 can handle over 240W of heat and performs close to or better than entry-evel single-radiator watercooling kits. Pricing is said to be around the $100 mark though, which seems quite excessive.

Scythe Big Shuriken 2 processor cooler launched

Scythe presents the Big Shuriken 2, a new low-profile cooler with a nickel-plated copper base, five copper heatpipes, aluminium fins and a 120mm Slip Stream Slim PWM fan that delivers 12.13 - 45.47CFM at a noise level of 9.32 - 33.67dBA. The cooler measures 125 x 135 x 58 mm, it weighs 410g and is compatible with Intel LGA775/1155/1156/1366 and AMD Socket AM2/AM3/FM1 processors. The Scythe Shuriken 2 cooler will retail for around 30EUR (excl. VAT).

Japanese cooling expert Scythe announces the successor of Big Shuriken CPU Cooler. Big Shuriken 2 had to undergo further development on the heatsink and axial-fan side to provide better even performance and compatibility.

Applied improvements of heatsink are not obvious at first sight because main heatsink structure was inherited from Big Shuriken (1) CPU Cooler. Total amount of copper-heatpipes was increases from four to five pieces. Curved heatpipes are connecting the nickel-plated copper-base with the two upper layers of aluminum fins. Big Shuriken (1) was equipped with a solid heatsink on top of the copper-base which has been removed in the new version.

Consequently socket mounting is no longer achieved by using VTMS mounting mechanism but the F.M.S.B. 4 (Flip Mount Super Back-Plate 4) using screws and backlpate. Socket compatibility list has been kept long as usual, including latest Intel socket LGA1155, LGA1156, T / LGA775 and LGA1366 as well as AMD socket AM2, AM2+, AM3, AM3+ and FM1.

New Version is furthermore equipped with a Slip Stream Slim 120 PWM axial-fan with a thickness of only 12 mm allowing the total height of Big Shuriken 2 being only 58 mm. Supplied 120 mm fan supports the PWM feature offering variable fan control between 500 and 2.000 rpm. Depending on fan speed and requirements the supplied fan is able to create airflow from 21 to 78 m�/h respectively from 12,13 to 45,47 CFM.

Cooler Master Storm Trooper (SGC-5000-KKN1) Full Tower Case Review

Introduction

It seems like it has been quite some time since I had the opportunity to bring you a new chassis from Cooler Master, but today changes all of that. Let me start by clearing up some confusion. All of the Storm series cases we have seen up to this point were spin-off's of the Storm Sniper, which itself was a CM 690 II in new clothes. Gone is the misconception that the Storm series is only for mid-towers, as this chassis is most definitely a full tower, and then some!

With it already in mind that we have left the basic design of the Sniper and 690 II moving to a full tower, my initial guess was that this was some new form of the HAF-X. As you will soon see, the new chassis to hit the scene is a much better thought out concept both inside and out than even what the HAF 932 or HAF-X brought to the table.

What seems to have happened is that Cooler Master has taken hints from other case offerings we have seen from time to time. Two things that come to mind is that this new chassis offers a non-marking rubber coating on the plastic components of the chassis, much like what we see from BitFenix with the SofTouch. The second bit that really stands out is the hard drive cages and the way they are designed. If you remember back to the Antec Lanboy Air, you'd remember they had a hard drive system that will allow you to install the drives in either front to back, or even side to side. With the Cooler Master version of this idea, it is more solid and very well thought out to offer every user the option to make it exactly the way they want it to work. There is plenty more going on both inside and outside of this chassis, these are just points to get your mind wondering what else might be offered in this new release.

Today we are going to be getting up close and personal with every little aspect of the Cooler Master Storm Trooper full tower chassis. I don't want to spill all the beans, but it seems Cooler Master is offering anything and everything in this chassis feature set. Things like push button fan and LED lighting controls, internal USB 3.0, aggressive styling and even a hard drive dock are all included with the Trooper along with many, many other hidden secrets and customizable options. Cooler Master says this is a perfect case for enthusiasts, LAN gamers, or even an encoder or folder with many GPU's, but I think they really cut themselves a little short. In my honest up front opinion, if you have the money to obtain one, this case is for you!

Evercool Transformer S CPU cooler revealed

Alpenf�hn K2 processor cooler now available

Alpenf�hn's K2 is now available in Europe for 74.90EUR. This cooler weighs a whopping 1050g, it offers a nickel-plated copper base, eight nickel-plated copper heatpipes and two aluminium heatsinks that are cooled by up to three 120/140mm fans. Included with the cooler is a 120mm fan as well as a 140mm fan. The K2 is compatible with all contemporary desktop platforms from Intel and AMD.

Alpenf�hn is aiming at the performance crown under the CPU coolers with the K2. For this, Alpenf�hn is employing two cooling towers and ships the unit with two, potent Wing Boost fans. The middle fan with 140 mm is intended to keep the air flow at a maximum, while the smaller 120 mm unit in front is meant to offer maximal compatibility to modern mainboards, while still providing impressive air flow. The cooler utilizes an incredible amount of materials with a massive weight of 1050 grams. To dissipate the heat from the CPU, the fine and numerous Aluminum fins offer an incredibly large surface area and the ability to install up to three fans. On top of that, the Alpenf�hn K2 implements a modern fin design, which is not only great to look at. but also results in a clean air flow, further reducing the overall noise level. Besides the pair of fans, mounting systems for all modern sockets from AMD (AM2, AM2+, AM3, AM3+, FM1) and Intel (775, 1155, 1156, 1366) along with a backplate for a proper and worry-free installation, ship with the massive cooler.

Cooler Master GeminII M4 low-profile CPU cooler revealed

Next month Cooler Master will ship the GeminII M4, a new ultra-low profile CPU cooler that measures 137mm x 122mm x 59mm. The cooler weighs 289g, it has four direct-touch heatpipes, aluminium fins and a 120mm XtraFlo slim fan with sleeve bearing. The fan spins at 500 to 1600RPM and promises a noise level between 8-30dBA.

The intented target market is Mini-ITX systems, HTPCs and other small form factor systems.

NZXT Cryo LX Aluminum Notebook Cooler Review

Introduction

With more and more laptop coolers passing through our doors, I have seen enough to get a basic feel for the market. Some coolers look like space ships with bulky plastic and rubber pieces and get surrounded by LEDs; some with and some without lighting control. If I was a teenager again, these things would all appeal to me, and at that point I know noise wasn't as much of an issue for me back then, but with lots of other things going on in the world around a PC, I like to see performance without making my ears bleed in the process.

While I was receiving coolers from Antec and Cooler Master, I asked NZXT for the Cryo LX to see what they have in store for the notebook cooling market. I mean we have just seen their LED kits, the Bunker, and those very nice looking wiring adapters, I figured they had to take some of that creativity into other products they produce, and NZXT seems more than happy to oblige me with my desire to want to see it.

Today we will be taking a close look at the Cryo LX, the "largest full aluminum notebook cooler". Not only does this notebook cooler offer an extruded aluminum construction, it also offers plenty of air flow. Even at first glance on the site or looking at the coolers packaging, it isn't hard to tell that NZXT is offering a classy looking addition to your desktop as well. I say we get to the specifics and key features of the Cryo LX, disassemble it a bit, and get to the testing to see if the "largest" cooler means the "best" notebook cooler.

Cooler Master prepping A-L2 sealed liquid cooling solution

Cooler Master is working on a new sealed liquid-cooling solution called A-L2. FUD Zilla spotted a prototype of this cooler at CeBIT and heard from Cooler Master that this one is all theirs, and that it should be pretty silent compared to its rivals.

The A-L2 features a large radiator cooled by a single fan and a pump/block system. Most of those similar water cooling systems have a rather noisy pump, but Cooler Master's engineer behind this project told us that this one will end up to be pretty silent compared to others on the market. One other noticeable thing is the special block that should improve the transfer of the heat and thus make this water cooling system pretty unique.

Cooler Master's A-L2 is expected to hit the market in May for less than $100.
